JUSTICE GURVINDER SINGH GILL Present:- Mr. Ram Bilas Gupta, Advocate for the petitioner. ***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although respondent No.7 has been declared a proclaimed offender in the year 2017 but no effective step is being taken by the police for effecting his arrest. The learned counsel has submitted that although the petitioner had made a representation dated 26.8.2019 (Annexure P-9) to the police, wherein she had also disclosed the telephone numbers being used by respondent No.7 and also of his family members, but despite the same the police is not proceeding on the basis of the said information to locate the whereabouts of respondent No.7 and to effect his arrest.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala to look into the matter and to ensure PANKAJ KAKKAR 2019.12.16 17:06 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRM-M-52947-2019 (O&M) that all the necessary steps are taken for effecting arrest of respondent No.7, who is stated to be a proclaimed offender.

As far as the grievance of the petitioner to the effect that respondent No.7 has solemnized second marriage during the subsistence of her marriage with the petitioner is concerned, the petitioner would be at liberty to have recourse to appropriate remedies as may be available to her for redressal of her grievance.

The petitioner would be at liberty to apprise respondent No.4Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala of all the material facts pertaining to whereabouts of respondent No.7. A copy of this order be sent to respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.
