The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue his passport with correct date of birth.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner was working with Indian Army where his date of birth was recorded as 16.07.1985 whereas in his passport his date of birth is recorded as 16.07.1983. The petitioner has applied for correction of date of birth in the passport.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before passport authority alongwith requisite documents and the passport authority, thereafter, would pass an appropriate order within six weeks, in accordance with law.
