The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue her passport with correct date of birth.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner was issued passport which is valid upto 22.06.2025. In the passport, her date of birth is recorded as 20.02.1973 whereas her correct date of birth is 20.02.1971 as per records of Indian Army where her husband was working as Hawaldar. The petitioner has applied for re-issuance of passport with correct date of birth.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before passport authority alongwith requisite PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.12.01 16:56 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP No.26246 of 2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:153128 documents and the passport authority, thereafter, would pass an appropriate order within six weeks, in accordance with law. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petition stands disposed of. The petitioner is directed to appear before passport authority on 12.12.2023.
