The instant petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.89 dated 20.01.2018 (Annexure P-4), under Section 174-A IPC, registered at Police Station Panipat City, District Panipat, and, the order dated 15.01.2018 (Annexure P-3), as passed by the learned Magistrate concerned, whereby, the petitioner has been declared "Proclaimed Person" in Complaint bearing No. NACT-411/2017, along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom. 2.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that subsequent to registration of the FIR in question, the parties had ironed out their differences and arrived at an amicable settlement, as a result of which the complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 stood withdrawn by the complainant. In support, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has drawn the attention of this Court to the order dated 03.12.2022 (Annexure P-6) passed by learned Presiding Officer, Daily Lok Adalat, Panipat. CRM-M-58958-2023 2023:PHHC:155092 circumstances, continuation of the FIR (Annexure P-1) and the order (Annexure P-3), besides all the consequential proceedings arising therefrom, would not serve any useful purpose, and thus, the same be quashed.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the relevant material on record.

In the light of submissions made by learned counsel representing the petitioner together with the fact that since the original complaint already stands withdrawn, this Court deems it appropriate to quash the criminal proceedings in the instant case. Accordingly, the petition is allowed and the FIR (Annexure P-1) and the order (Annexure P-3), along with all consequential proceedings arising out of it, are quashed.
