& ()* The instant petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short, 'BNSS, 2023') seeking grant of anticipatory bail in FIR No. 89 dated 14.08.2025 under Sections 125 of BNS, 2023 and 25 of Arms Act registered at Police Station Hathur, Ludhiana.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has been wrongly implicated in the present FIR. The video in question is four years old and it was posted on the official social media account of BJP and got viral due to political reasons. Petitioner is a 21 years old young student of M.A. Punjabi and is having clear antecedents.   is ready and willing to join the investigation. 3.

On the other hand, learned State counsel, appearing on advance notice, opposes the grant of bail to the petitioner and contends that the petitioner was visible in the video of firing in the air from the window of the car, which is a serious offence. However, he does not dispute the fact that petitioner is not involved in any other criminal case. 4.

Keeping in view the contentions made by learned counsel for the parties, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to join the investigation as and when required by the Investigating Officer and as the offences in the present case are punishable upto 07 years so, the Investigating Officer is directed to follow the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Arnesh Kumar vs. State of Bihar and Another (2014), 8 SCC 273 and Satender Kumar Antil v. CBI, (2022) 10 SCC 51.
