Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to official respondents, to protect the life and liberty of the detenue Manpreet Kaur, who apprehends threat to her life at the hands of private respondents No.8 to 11. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner's daughter, Manpreet Kaur, who was abducted by the private respondents on 12.07.2021, has been missing since that date, and he apprehends a threat to her life and liberty.

On a pointed query put to the learned counsel, he has conceded that he is unaware of Manpreet Kaur's whereabouts since 2021. It is also undisputed that the petitioner has not been in contact with his daughter since that time.

A perusal of the material placed on record reveals that on earlier occasion as well the petitioner had approached this Court for issuance of writ in the nature of habeas corpus for release of the detenuePOONAM RATHORE 2024.11.14 14:20 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh

CRWP-10765-2024 -2Manpreet Kaur wherein too he had conceded that he was not aware about the exact location of the detenue. Still further, admittedly the petitioner has filed the present petition on behalf of his daughter who herself is now an adult, major without obtaining any power of attorney on her behalf. In the circumstances, no ground is made out for issuance of the directions as prayed for.
