 The petitioner, who is a sole accused in a murder trial bearing FIR No. 434 dated 29.07.2022 under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code registered at Police Station Industrial Area, Sector 29, Panipat, District Panipat, is in custody since 29.07.2022.

The grievance of the petitioner is of prolonged custody. 3.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that out of 17 prosecution witnesses, 14 witnesses have been examined leaving aside only three witnesses who are not yet examined. This fact is not denied by learned State counsel. The next date of hearing in the trial is fixed as 26.11.2024 for recording the statements of remaining three prosecution witnesses. 4.

Looking to the gravity of the offence, it would be appropriate that for the time being, the petitioner is denied bail but is granted liberty to revisit the Court in case remaining three prosecution witnesses are not examined on the next date of hearing.
