(Oral) This petition has been filed, inter alia, seeking a writ of certiorari quashing the result dated 29.03.2023, Annexure P-2, for selection to the post of Associate Professor in Law, wherein the petitioner was an applicant, and none was found suitable by the selection committee. 2.

It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is an experienced Teacher having vast experience of teaching Law in different Universities for over twelve years, and has held academic positions of Dean and Head of the Department in different private Universities. He possesses more than the required qualification for the post in question. Still, he was not selected, nor any reason for the same was cited in the impugned notice/result dated 29.03.2023, which is arbitrary and should be set aside.

Merely because the petitioner has the qualification for the advertised post or experience of teaching law for over a decade, it does not entitle him to appointment on the post. He only has a right of consideration and his candidature has been duly considered by the selection committee, which found none of the candidates, including him, suitable for appointment. Once the academic experts have considered the candidature and found him not suitable, no exception can be taken to it. Besides, no illegality or irregularity in the selection process could be pointed out, nor has any mala fide been alleged.

In view thereof, there is no ground to entertain the petition. 5.
