On the previous date of hearing also, none had entered appearance on behalf of the petitioners.

Learned State counsel has, on instructions, brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioners are seeking partial quashing of the FIR in question on the basis of a compromise stated to have been effected between them and the private respondents. It has been submitted by the learned State counsel that although six persons were nominated as accused in the FIR in question, four had been challaned PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.12.10 18:24 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRM-M-59361-2023 & 5800-2020 -2yet only two out of those four accused had approached this Court for quashing of the FIR in question on the basis of the purported compromise. It has been asserted by the learned State counsel that partial quashing of FIR on the basis of compromise is contrary to the ratio of law laid down by a Division Bench of this Court in CRM-M No. 48043 of 2023 titled as Rakesh Das Versus State of Haryana and another, decided on 12.11.2024.
