    !"#$ % &'(  )'! ' ******* KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Petitioners are praying for direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to provide protection to their life and liberty from the hands of private respondent No.4.

In the petition, it has been stated that both the petitioners are into live-in-relationship which has been opposed by private respondent No.4 who is related to petitioner No.2.

Counsel for the petitioners inter alia submits that petitioner No.1 a male aged about 40 years, who is already married is presently living with petitioner No.2 a divorcee female aged about 29 years and they are into live-in-relationship with their own free will and consent against the wishes of respondent No.4. That the said respondent is extending threats to cause physical harm to the petitioners and in this Priyanka Thakur 2024.11.06 09:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

  

* regard petitioners have already submitted their representation dated 03.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 but the police authorities failed to take any action against respondent No.4 to safeguard the life and liberty of the petitioners.

Notice of motion.

Ms. Harpreet Kaur, AAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 and submits that in case any such representation submitted by the petitioners is pending, the same will be looked into and decided by competent authority as per law, at the earliest. 6.

In view of above, without going into the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Superintendent of Police, Karnal to consider and decide representation dated 03.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) and to take necessary steps in accordance with law, if the situation so warrants. 7.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion regarding the validity of the relationship between the petitioners. It is also made clear that respondent No.4 is at liberty to avail appropriate remedy available to him under law against the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
