Through the instant petition, as instituted under Section 482 of the Cr.P.C., the hereinafter extracted reliefs are sought:- (a) Quashing of FIR No.323 dated 19.12.2017, under Section 420 of the IPC, registered at P.S. Daba, District Police Commissionerate Ludhiana, and, all consequential proceedings arising therefrom;

(b) Quashing of Final Report dated 04.12.2018, as presented against the petitioner, for commission of offence punishable under Section 420 of the IPC;

(c) Quashing of order dated 07.01.2020, whereby, charge under Section 420 of the IPC has been framed against the petitioner.

At the very outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, considering the stage of trial, i.e. examination of prosecution witnesses, he intends to withdraw the instant petition. CRM-M-59674-2023 2023:PHHC:154683 for issuance of directions upon the learned trial Court concerned to expedite the trial.

Considering the innocuous and bonafide prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, coupled with the fact that the petitioner/accused has been bestowed with a fundamental right to an expeditious trial, besides the fact that it is in the interest of all concerned that the guilt or innocence of the petitioner/accused is determined as soon as possible, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the learned trial Court concerned to expedite the trial and to make an endeavour to conclude the trial within a year from today.

The S.S.P. concerned is also directed to ensure the presence of remaining prosecution witnesses on each and every date, as fixed by the learned trial Court concerned, for their examination. 5.

Disposed of accordingly.
