(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction to respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect life and liberty of the petitioners as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondents No. 5 to 8 and also apprehend threat from respondent No. 4, who has issued threats of detaining them illegally.

Upon notice having been issued, the learned State counsel has today filed reply wherein it has been informed that petitioner No.1 Shkila Devi and her husband Rinku Khan are habitual offenders and had committed frauds in respect of which FIR No. 164 dated 15.11.2019 under Section 420 IPC at Police Station Panjokhra, District Ambala has been lodged. It has further been stated therein that it was in connection with the said FIR that the police party had conducted raids for effecting their arrest but they could not be found as they had left their village to evade arrest. CRWP-2088-2019 Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and also the learned State counsel, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the effect that in case petitioner No. 2 Bholi Begam is required to be associated with any enquiry or in case any information is to be elicited from her in connection with the aforesaid FIR then a prior written notice be afforded to her. It is further directed that since petitioners No. 3 and 4 are minors, it be ensured that no inconvenience is caused to them in any manner in case any fresh raid is conducted.

The petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid directions. It is clarified that this order shall not be construed as any kind of blanket protection to any of the accused in aforesaid FIR or in respect of any other FIR lodged against them.
