The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue his passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 11.07.1995 which was valid upto 10.07.2005. The petitioner lost his passport in Moscow. The petitioner came back to India on Emergency Certificate obtained by him at Sofia, Bulgaria. Emergency Certificate Slip was also lost and petitioner got lodged complaint at Police Station PSOC Rahon, SBS Nagar. The petitioner applied for re-issuance of passport on 30.06.2022. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a period of about one and a half year has passed but the respondents have not taken any action on the application of the petitioner.

Faced with this, learned counsel for the respondents, states that application of the petitioner would be considered within four weeks from today and appropriate order would be passed in accordance with law. 5.

In the wake of statement of learned counsel for Union of India, the petition stands disposed of.
