Present:
Mr. Rajesh Khandelwal, Advocate, for the petitioner. Mr. S.S. Pannu, DAG, Haryana.
***** RAJAN GUPTA , J. (Oral) Notice, in this case, was issued on 17.12.2019 on the limited question. Arguments raised before this court is that distribution of population during delimitation has not been equitable as per Rule 7 of the Delimitation Rules, 1977, variation being beyond 10% above or below the average population per ward.
Pursuant to said order, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Haryana, Panchkula, is present in court. Mr. Pannu has sought instructions from him and addressed the court. He has referred to a summary of proposed wards of Municipal Committee, Uklana which is likely to be the basis for the forthcoming Municipal elections. He has referred to wards by way of total population given therein. According to him, a perusal thereof would show that variation of maximum/minimum population in every ward is not more than 10%. The document is taken on record.
