The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2-State of Punjab to submit police verification report.

The petitioner was issued passport on 22.05.2009 which expired on 21.05.2019. The petitioner vide application dated 08.06.2023 applied for re-issuance of passport. The application of the petitioner is still pending because respondent-State has not submitted police verification report. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that grievance of the petitioner would be redressed, at this stage, if respondent-State is directed to to submit police verification report in a time bound manner.
