As common issues are involved in the captioned petitions, with the consent of both sides, the same are hereby disposed of by this common order. For the sake of brevity and convenience, facts are borrowed from CWP-29372-2025.

The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of orders dated 18.06.2021 (Annexure P-1), 24.03.2023 (Annexure P-2), 23.10.2024 (Annexure P-3) and 01.04.2025 (Annexure P-4). 3.

The petitioner is part of Punjab Police Force. He was issued charge sheet dated 18.06.2021 alleging misconduct. Inquiry officer found him guilty and he was awarded punishment of forfeiture of three years DEEPAK BISSYAN 2025.09.30 17:36 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-29372-2025 -2approved service for increments with permanent effect. He preferred an appeal before Deputy Inspector General of Police which came to be dismissed vide order dated 23.10.2024. He filed mercy appeal before DIG, Faridkot Range, Faridkot. The said authority dismissed his mercy appeal holding that appeal against order dated 23.10.2024 passed by DIG is maintainable before DGP. He has preferred revision/mercy petition before DGP which is still pending. It is apt to notice that mercy petition was filed on 09.06.2025.

Learned State counsel submits that mercy petition filed by petitioner would be adjudicated by DGP within three months from today. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees with the said arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the instant petition stands disposed of.
