Present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners as well as their family members as they apprehend threat at the hands of private respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contended that the petitioners are running a business of Rehri of Chole Kulche in front of their own house, which is situated at Street No.4, Ward No.11, Near Gurmeet Medical Store, Tehsil Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib, and earning their livelihood and petitioner No.1 has registration certificate for the same which has been issued by Government of Punjab, Department of Food Safety, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, and the same is annexed as Annexure P-1. The private respondents are trying to shut down the business of petitioners and even on 06.04.2025, the private respondents entered into the kitchen of the GEETA RANI 2025.11.05 12:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

CRWP-10597-2025 (O&M) ( 2 ) petitioners and started abusing them and stopped them to prepare Kulche Chohle and pushed petitioner No.1, who fell on the ground. In this regard, a representation (Annexure P-3) has also been moved by petitioner No.1, but no action has been taken, so far.

Mr. Yadwinder Singh, Assistant A.G., Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepted notice on behalf of respondent-State and has submitted that the competent authority will look into the matter and take appropriate action, if required, in accordance with law.

Keeping in view the averments made by learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-The Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib, to look into the averments made in the representation (Annexure P-3) and to take action in accordance with law.
