(ORAL) In compliance of order dated 07.11.2024, status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Khadur Sahib, Camp at Goindwal Sahib, District Tarn Taran, has been filed in Court, which is taken on record subject to just exceptions. 2.
While issuing notice on the previous date, a pointed query was posed to the learned counsel for the petitioners as to whether any FIR stood registered against petitioner No.2 qua the kidnapping/abduction of petitioner No.2, who admittedly is a minor, he had feigned ignorance.

Learned State counsel has drawn the attention of this Cout to paragraph No.2 of the status report, which has been filed today. He submits that FIR No.210 dated 09.11.2024 stands registered under Sections 137(2)/96/3(5) of the BNS at Police Station Sadar, Tarn Taran against petitioner No.2 as well as his mother for kidnapping petitioner No.1 on the pretext of performing marriage with minor PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.11.13 14:18 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
CRWP-10749-2024 -2daughter of the complainant i.e. petitioner No.1. Learned counsel has contended that the police have been conducting continuous raids to recover petitioner No.1, however, they have not succeeded so far. It has been further submitted that in view of petitioner No.2 being accused in a criminal case, that too pertaining to kidnapping of a minor girl i.e. petitioner No.1, no protection can be given to him by the police. 4.
Despite the case having been called, none has entered appearance on behalf of the petitioners.

In the wake of the averments made in the status report as well as the submissions made by the learned State counsel, the instant petition stands disposed of.
