The substantive prayer made in the petition reads thus: 'It is therefore respectfully prayed that the petition may kindly be accepted and appropriate directions may be issued to the respondents that the Petitioner may not be arrested at the airport in view of the fact that the FIR no.141 dated 20.11.2013 u/s 406, 498-A IPC, 1860, P.S. Mehtiana, District Hoshiarpur (Annexure P-1) has already been quashed by this Hon'ble Court vide order dated 30.10.2018 (Annexure P-5) including all the consequential proceedings emanating out of it.' 2.

Notice of motion was issued, thereinafter State has filed a short reply by way of affidavit of Sukhninder Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Chabbewal, District Hoshiarpur, copy whereof has been furnished to learned counsel for the petitioner. The relevant portion of the above said reply, filed on behalf of the respondent/State of Punjab, reads thus:

CRM-M No.55840 of 2024 -2- 'That it is submitted that after completion of investigation, the challan of the present case was presented qua the co-accused Satpal and Harbhajan Kaur in the Ld. Trial Court at Hoshiarpur on 10.11.2015. The charges were framed qua the co-accused Satpal and Harbhajan Kaur on 18.01.2016. After completion of Trial, the co-accused Satpal Singh and Harbhajan Kaur were acquitted in the present case by the court of Sh. Tanishth Goyal the then Ld. JMIC, Hoshiarpur vide judgement dated 15.11.2017 as the prosecution witnesses of the present case turned hostile and did not support the version of the prosecution.

4. That it is submitted that the petitioner filed petition CRM-M 28822 of 2018 U/s 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of present FIR before this Hon'ble Court on the basis of compromise and this Hon'ble Court was pleased to quash the present FIR qua the petitioner vide order dated 30.08.2018.' 3.

Having perused the said reply, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the instant petition has been rendered infructuous and may be disposed of as such.
