SUVIR SEHGAL J. (Oral) Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner was working as Inspector Grade-I with PUNSUP, Patiala. As a result of disciplinary proceeding, he was dismissed from the service, vide order dated 30.04.2019 (Annexure P-2) which he has challenged by way of an appeal (Annexure P-1) before respondent No.1. According to him, the appeal is neither being heard nor any date is being fixed. He has submitted that at this stage, he is confining his prayer only to a direction to be issued to respondent No.1 to decide his appeal.

After having gone through the record with the assistance of the learned counsel for the petitioner, I am of the view that this is an appropriate matter where a direction is required to be issued to respondent No.1 to entertain and decide the statutory appeal filed by the petitioner.
