    Through this writ petition, the petitioner, who was elected as a Sarpanch in the year 2018, prays for issuance of direction to the respondent No.2 to 5 to handover the charge of the Gram Panchayat to the petitioner. It has been alleged that respondent No.5, the ex-Sarpanch has not handed over the charge for the last 3 years. Mr. Gurpal S. Sandhu, Advocate, enters appearance for respondent No.5 and states that Smt. Amarjit Kaur, ex-Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat of Village Koliyanwali has handed over the charge to the current Sarpanch (the petitioner herein) forthwith at the time of his election and she does not have any record.

Keeping in view the aforesaid stand, the disputed facts are involved in the present petition. Hence, the Director, Rural Development and ASHOK KUMAR 2021.09.15 10:19 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-36975-2019 (O&M) Panchayat, Punjab, is directed to hold an inquiry and conclude the same positively within a period of 15 days from today. It is expected that the Director will grant opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as respondent No.5 before passing the order.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, are also disposed of.
