CWP No.37200 of 2019(O&M) #2# Chandigarh Bench challenging the appointment of Director General of Police (Head of Police Force) and adjudicate the same. Without issuing notice, it is conveyed that Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India was requested to apprise the Court with regard to the steps being taken to fill up the vacancies. At the time of hearing, Mr. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India submits that the process for filling up 12 vacancies (Judicial as well as Administrative Members) is under process and very soon same will be finalized. As regards the petitioner, counsel for the petitioner submits that in the light of the Judgment dated 17.01.2020 having been passed by the learned Tribunal the present writ petition has become infructuous.

Dismissed as infructuous.

It is hoped that Union of India will finalize the appointment of requisite number of Members, at the earliest.
