(Oral) This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the petitioner on parole for a period of 12 weeks on account of illness of his father-Karnail Singh.

On notice, a reply has been filed on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 3, stating therein that the father of the petitioner submitted an application before Superintendent, District Jail, Yamuna Nagar on 11.11.2019 and reply of the same was forwarded to the father of the petitioner by Deputy Superintendent, District Jail, Yamuna Nagar vide office letter dated 18.11.2019 (R-1). As per letter dated 18.11.2019, the petitioner has not completed 03 years after conviction and thus was not held entitled for parole. Keeping in view the order dated 18.11.2019 (R-1), the present petition at this stage is being disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioner to make a fresh application for release him on parole in case his father is still ill.
