Having married against the wishes of their family members, petitioners are now apprehending threat to their life and liberty at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 7 and have prayed for granting them protection by way of this petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the petitioners are major and have performed marriage on 06.09.2025. Copy of marriage certificate is (Annexure P-4). Ever since then, the petitioners are being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. Resultantly, a representation dated 19.09.2025 (Annexure P-5) was also made to respondent No.2 Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazila for protection of their lives and liberty but in vain. CRWP-10473-2025 (O&M) -2that he would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.2 Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazila to look into their representation and take appropriate steps at the earliest.

In view of above, petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazila to provide necessary protection to the petitioners after considering threat perceptions to their life and liberty and to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioners is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents. However, this direction will not validate the marriage said to have taken place between the parties and will have no effect on any civil or criminal action, which could be initiated in the matter in accordance with law. 6.

Pending misc. application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
