*** NIDHI GUPTA, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the present criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a Writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect life, liberty and property of the petitioner; and not to harass and humiliate the petitioner at the instance of private respondent No.4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is working as a Child Counselor in District Legal Services Authority Kapurthala. It is submitted that respondent No.4 had promised to marry the petitioner but now he has reneged from his promise and he is continously threatening the petitioner with cruelty and performed intercourse with the petitioner at gun point. It is submitted that in this regard, 2 representations dated 30.07.2024 and 08.11.

2024 (Annexures P1 and P-3 respectively) have been made to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala and other representation dated 04.11.2024 (Annexure P-2) has been made to the SHO, Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. However, DIVYANSHI 2024.11.

CRWP-10946-2024 (O&M) -2 - no action has been taken thereupon.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions, informs this Court that the said representations are still under investigation. It is further pointed out that one of the allegations in the said representations is that respondent No.4 has beaten up the petitioner. However, no MLR in respect of the same has been attached.

Heard.

Keeping in mind the nature of allegations made in the above said representations including the allegation that respondent No.4 is performing intercourse with the petitioner at gun point, respondents No.2 and 3 herein are directed to decide the representations of the petitioner within a period of six months from today; to assess the threat perception, if any, to the petitioner; and take action in accordance with law if so required.

The present petition stands disposed of.
