The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of appropriate directions to the official respondents to make thorough inquiry and de novo investigation to trace out the missing daughter of the petitioner namely Veer Kaur.

At the outset, learned State counsel has filed the status report by way of affidavit of Tarsem Masih, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Tarn Taran, on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3 in Court today, which is taken on record. Copy thereof has been handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner.

After arguing vehemently on the merits of the case, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for withdrawal of the present petition at this stage.

Accordingly, the present petition stands dismissed as withdrawn, at this stage, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case.
