The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents No. 1 and 2 to revoke passport of respondent No. 4.

The petitioner is a resident of Tarn Taran and his daughter walked down the aisle with respondent No. 4. A matrimonial discord has taken place between daughter and son-in-law of the petitioner. FIR under Section 498-A of IPC has been registered against the respondent No. 4. The passport authority has renewed passport of respondent No. 4 despite pendency of FIR.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that police by mistake or in connivance with respondent No. 4 had issued clearance certificate and on being pointed out, has issued look out notice. PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.12.11 18:33 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Learned counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, assures the Court that passport authority, being duty bound, would take appropriate steps in accordance with law. 5.
