The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to notionally promote the petitioners to the post of Sub Inspector and refix pension. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners on attaining the age of 56 years were entitled to exemption from passing Upper School Course but respondent has denied benefit of promotion to the petitioners on the ground that they have not passed Upper School Course. A similar benefit has been extended to others.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, at this stage, grievance of the petitioners would be redressed if respondents are directed to consider legal notice dated 30.09.2023 (Annexure P-5) of the petitioners. 4.

Learned counsel for the State assures the Court that competent authority would look into the matter and pass an appropriate order within a period of three months from today.
