The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to send police verification report with respect to an application for passport filed by him.

The petitioner vide application dated 10.08.2023 has applied for passport. The application is pending before passport authority because Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala has not forwarded police verification report.

Mr. G.P.S.Bal, Advocate, submits that grievance of the petitioner, at this stage, would be redressed if Senior Superintendent of PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2024.02.22 05:52 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Ms. Bhavana Datta, Senior Panel Counsel for Union of India and Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, who on advance notice are present in Court, accept notice and waive service.

Ms. Bhavana Datta submits that she does not dispute the prayer of the petitioner and submits that passport authority would look into the matter as soon as report is received from competent authority. 7.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab assures the Court that Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala would look into the matter and required police verification report would be sent within four weeks from today. 8.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
