The petitioners had made a representation dated 20.12.2019 (Annexure P-4) to the Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Amritsar, but no action has so far been taken thereon.

Issue notice to respondents No.1 to 3.

At the asking of the Court, Mr. K.K. Bheniwala, Addl. AG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3. Without expressing any opinion on the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2 - Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Amritsar, to look into the representation of the petitioners and take steps, if necessary, in accordance with law. It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them.
