The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty from the hands of respondents No. 4 to 7.

The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed a representation dated 25.09.2025 (Annexure P7) before the respondents No.2-Commissioner of Police, District Amritsar. The learned counsel prays for directions to the respondent No.2 to decide the above-mentioned representation within a stipulated time. 3.

Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3 only. 4.

Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 3, and waives service. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a direction for DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2025.09.30 13:02 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document disposing of the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P7) be given to

Criminal Writ Petition No. 10581 of 2025 the respondent No.2 and that the instant writ petition be disposed of accordingly.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P7) by passing a speaking order within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of copy of instant order. It is further directed that the petitioners shall be provided requisite safety and security to protect their life and liberty, if required. It is however clarified that any observation is not being made by this Court with regard to threat perception to the petitioners or the validity of their marriage. The police authority of District Amritsar shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment of the threat perception to the petitioners, and take a decision on the issue of providing adequate security to them.
