Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India directing respondents No.3 and 4 to provide protection to the life and liberty of the petitioner, who is facing threats from the hands of respondents No.5 to 9. It is further prayed to direct respondents to decide/take action on the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.09.2024, Annexure P-4, and direct respondents No.5 to 9 not to interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioner and his family. 2.

At the outset, it has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that though he has filed the representation with a prayer to register FIR also, however, he does not press his prayer qua the same. However, he submits that in the representation, he has also prayed for protection of his life and liberty and hence he restricts his prayer to that extent only. 3.

On asking of the Court, Mr.Tarun Aggarwal, Sr.DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State. 5.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar (Annexure P-4) to look into the representation of the petitioner qua protection to his life and liberty, decide the same and grant him protection, if any threat to his life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
