By way of present petition, prayer has been made for grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 74 dated 19.06.2023 registered under Section 22 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Police Station Sadar Patiala, District Patiala wherein, the petitioner has been implicated on the allegations of recovery of 850 lose tablets of Alprazolam.

The prayer made herein has been opposed at the instance of learned State counsel while referring to the huge recovery of intoxicant tablets involved.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and gone through the paper book. I find substance in the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner.

CRM-M-61903-2023 -22023:PHHC:159828 concluded with the filing of challan followed by framing of charges and the trial is likely to take some time. Besides it, there is no other case under NDPS Act pending against the petitioner; the petitioner is already behind the bars for the past six months thus, this Court does not find justification to extend his incarceration any further. 6.
