Present:

Mr. D.S. Gandhi, Advocate for the petitioners. AARADHNA SAWHNEY , J (ORAL) Alleging harassment from the hands of local police officials, the petitioners have approached this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution, praying therein to issue appropriate direction to respondents No.2 to protect their life and liberty. It has further been prayed to direct respondent No.3 to look into the matter and take appropriate action on the representation dated 18.09.2025 (Annexure P.3) of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that Ex-husband of petitioner No.1 and the father of petitioner No.2, was involved in case FIR No.43 dated 02.03.2025 registered against him under Sections 75 and 351(2) of BNS, 2023 at P.S Nngal, Rupnagar. He is on the run. His whereabouts are not known to the petitioners, who are now not in any way connected with him. However, the local police officials are repeatedly raiding their house in order to search him. Representation dated 18.09.2025 (Annexure P.2) mentioning entire facts was also moved to the Senior police officials but the same remained undecided till date, hence the present petition.

After considering the respective submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and the averments made in the petition, without commenting on the merits thereof, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.3 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 18.09.2025 (Annexure P.2), within two days, in accordance with law. The decision so taken be intimated to the petitioners as well.
