The petitioner prays for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Regional Passport Officer, Amritsar, Punjab, to issue passport to him.

The learned State counsel has filed reply disclosing the involvement of the petitioner in FIR No. 30 dated 07.12.2018, registered under Sections 283, 341, 188, 148 and 149 IPC at Police Station Sadar, Zira, in which the State proposes to file a cancellation report which has been prepared. The petitioner is also nominated as an accused in case FIR No. 1 dated 06.01.2022, registered under Section 283 IPC (Sections 307, 353, 186 & 149 IPC and Section 8 of the National Highways Act, 1956, were added later on vide rapat No. 28 dated 20.12.2022) which is the subject matter of DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2024.12.02 10:27 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Civil Writ Petition No. 30943 of 2024 investigation by a Special Investigating Team. 3.

The learned counsel representing the Regional Passport Officer, Amritsar, submits that the writ petition be disposed of as the authority will take further steps in accordance with law because now the stand of the State of Punjab is available.
