CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE PANKAJ JAIN Present :

Mr. Tarun Sharma, Advocate for the petitioners. PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) By way of present petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners are seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 14.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Tarun Aggarwal, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.

As per the petitioners, they have married on 04.12.2023 against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 14, who happen to be the family members/relatives of petitioner No.1 i.e. Jaspreet Kaur. Both the petitioners have claimed themselves to be major relying upon their Aadhar Cards indicating that petitioner No.1-Jaspreet Kaur is 28.07.2000 born and petitioner No.2-Balwinder Singh is 08.02.1998 born.

CRWP-11956-2023 -22023:PHHC:158536 Without commenting on the legality and validity of the marriage, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No.2 (Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur) to look into the representation dated 05.12.2023 (Annexure P-4) submitted by the petitioners. Keeping in view the fact that both the petitioners claim to have married, I think that if possible, respondent No.2 may call a meeting of the petitioners as well as respondents No.4 to 14 in his presence, so that the parties get rid off their ill feelings and live amicably. The petition stands disposed off.
