1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had initially been issued an arms licence in the year 2006, which had been renewed from time to time and now when he submitted an application for renewal of the same, the Collector informed him vide letter dated 26.4.2023 (Annexure P-3) that the applicant would be required to apply for a fresh licence as UNI Number cannot be issued on old licence. Learned counsel submits that applying for a fresh licence is a lengthy process and that he cannot be forced to apply for the same when he has been continuously maintaining an arms licence without there being any complaint against his conduct.

2. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner had also submitted a representation dated 5.7.2023 (Annexure P-4) which is in the nature of a legal notice but to no avail.

3. Without commenting anything as regards the assertions made in the petition or the merits of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-District Collector, Jind, to consider the representation dated MOHAN SINGH 2023.12.11 16:45 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
