2. Learned counsel would contend that the petitioners are daily wagers working since the year 1988 and 1998 respectively, however, their services have not been regularised, while those of persons junior to them have been, vide orders dated 29.08.2024 and 13.03.2020, Annexure P-3 and P-4 respectively, as per the policy decision dated 01.10.2003, regarding which, a legal notice dated 15.09.2024, Annexure P-6, has been served upon respondents, but the same has yet not evoked any response. He thus, at this stage, on instructions from the petitioners prays that a direction is given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner.

In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the legal notice dated 15.09.2024, within a period of 4 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to them and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioners shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon !! "
