The present petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib to safeguard their life and liberty from the hands of respondents No. 4 to 7.

Counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners got married on 15.11.2024 against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 7 who are extending threats to cause harm to the petitioners and in this regard, representation dated 15.11.2024 (Annexure P-7) was given to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib but till date no action has been taken by the concerned authority in this regard. 3.
