NIDHI GUPTA J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuing direction for getting the investigation in FIR No.48 dated 17.7.2023 (Annexure P-1), under Sections 406 and 498-A IPC, registered at Police Station Women, District Police Commissionerate Ludhiana conducted from senior officer by constituting the Special Investigation Team (SIT) as the respondent No.4-Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana has started parallel enquiry and due to this Investigating Officer is not conducting the investigation despite the fact that there is no provision of conducting parallel enquiry in the Code of Criminal Procedure. Upon notice, the respondent-State of Punjab appeared and filed the status report dated 15.1.2024 by way of affidavit of Sanjay Kumar , PPS, , ACP, CAW & C-Cell Ludhiana, District Police Commissionerate Ludhiana, on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4. VIJAY ASIJA 2024.03.05 19.29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

6. That it is pertinent to highlight that the preliminary investigation into the aforementioned representation was conducted by ASI Roop Singh. In a detailed report, the said official had recommended the filing of the aforementioned representation. The aforesaid recommendation was based on the fact that both accused individuals have already been granted the concession of pre-arrest bail by the Ld. Additional Sessions Judge Ludhiana. Consequently, both accused individuals have participated in the investigation pertaining to the aforementioned FIR. It is apposite to mention herewith that the aforesaid report and recommendations made therein are pending for the approval of the senior officials.

That the investigation in the aforementioned FIR registered on the complaint of the petitioner is actively ongoing and the same is being conducted with utmost diligence, fairness, and transparency. xxx xxx xxx"
In view of the above, no further direction is required to be issued in the present petition.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
