MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Petitioner is seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents for fair and impartial investigation in FIR No.162 dated 02.07.2024 under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gharinda, District Amritsar.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a concocted story having been brought forth by the investigating agency is evident from the fact that neither was the son of the petitioner apprehended with the alleged contraband nor did his name surface during the interrogation of the co-accused, much less by way of any disclosure statement, however, subsequently out of nowhere, a zimni order dated 09.07.2024 surfaced leading to the petitioner's son being nominated as an accused in the present case. Learned counsel submits that a representation dated 03.10.2024 (Annexure P-6) had also been given to the official respondents, however, in vain.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Navdeep Singh, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State.

In view of the restricted prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, to look into the representation dated 03.10.2024 (Annexure P-6) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps, if required, in accordance with law.
