1. The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.7 and 8.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that petitioner No.1 - Anmolpreet Kaur aged about 17 years and petitioner No.2 - Gurjant Singh aged about 25 years know each other since long and intend to marry after petitioner No.1 attains age of majority/marriageable age, but respondents No.7 and 8, who are parents of petitioner No.1 do not approve of their relationship and have been threatening to cause harm to petitioners No.1 and 2 as well as to petitioner No.3 - Faqir Singh, who is maternal grandfather of petitioner No.2 with whom petitioner No.1 is presently residing.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that although representation dated 18.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) has been submitted to respondent No.2 - Pankaj Kakkar 2024.11.22 16:54 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners, but without commenting anything as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.5 - S.H.O., P.S. Sirhind and respondent No.6 - S.H.O., P.S. Samana to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 18.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) examined to the limited extent of alleged threat perception of the petitioners. In case, it is found that there is any gunine threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps as may be warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners in any manner.
5. A copy of this order alongwith copy of representation dated 18.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) be sent to respondent No.3 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib & respondent No.4 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala for necessary compliance.
