The above-mentioned FIR came into being at the instance of Sub Inspector Sher Singh, who was leading a team of police officials. It was reported that a tip-off from a reliable source was received that Parveen (petitioner herein) was involved in the activities of sale of intoxicating
medicines. According to above-named police officer acting upon the abovementioned information firstly he informed his senior officer by issuing memo under Section 42 of NDPS Act, and thereafter, intercepted the motorcycle bearing Registration No.HR-16W-2891 of the petitioner. As per above-named police officer when the search of person of petitioner was carried out, it was found that the above-named person was in possession of 3800 tablets of Lorazepam. It is the case of the prosecution that total weight of abovementioned tablets was 262.2 grams. /
