The present petition under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita-2023 (BNSS) has been filed by the petitioner for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No. 191 dated 09.07.2024 under Sections 305/331/126/127 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita-2023 (Section 147 of BNS deleted) registered at Police Station Civil Lines Batala, District Gurdaspur.

It is informed by learned State counsel that the petitioner, who is alleged with theft of 80 bags of wheat from a dwelling house, has 10 offences of similar nature registered against him. 4.

In the matters of theft, custodial interrogation becomes relevant and therefore, no case for grant of anticipatory bail is made out. Accordingly, the petition stands dismissed.
