Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to regularize the services of the petitioners w.e.f. 06.11.2001 when the service of their junior Santokh Singh was regularized and to grant all consequential benefits to them.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submit that for claiming the relief of anti-dated regularization with effect from the date person junior to the petitioners was regularized. The petitioners served a legal notice dated 17.01.2023 (Annexure P-10) upon the respondents, however, the same has been replied by Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority, Ludhiana, vide letter dated 16.05.2023 (Annexure P-11), however, the competent authority i.e. respondents No.1 and 2, have not replied to the legal notice dated 17.01.2023 (Annexure P-10) and he would be satisfied if time bound directions are MOHD YAKUB 2024.04.10 12:03 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioners and have gone through the record of the case.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioners in the present petition, respondents No.1 and 2 are directed to consider and decide the claim made by the petitioners in the legal notice dated 17.01.2023 (Annexure P-10), in accordance with law, by passing a speaking order, within a period of 03 months, from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. In case, the petitioners are found held entitled, the necessary benefits be released within a period of 04 weeks thereafter. 5.

The petition stands disposed of.
