(Oral) This petition has been filed, inter alia, seeking a writ of mandamus impugning the action of the respondents in issuing fresh appointment order at the time of absorption of the petitioner as Senior Assistant and not relating back the same from the date of his initial appointment as Assistant Treasurer on account of his retrenchment as absorption of similarly situated employees were related back from the date of their initial appointment.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that grievance raised herein is pending for appropriate decision before the respondents. At this stage, the petitioner will be satisfied in case respondent No.2 is directed to decide the pending notice of demand, dated 08.05.2023, Annexure P-9, in a specified period.

Ms. Jasleen Kaur Sidhu, DAG, Punjab, appearing on advance notice, submits that the pending notice of demand shall be decided by respondent No.2 expeditiously.

In view thereof, without going into merits of the case, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2/Director, Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, Punjab, to consider and decide the pending notice of demand dated 08.05.2023, by passing a speaking order in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order.
