RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Petitioner has approached this Court praying for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to enquire into the complaints, dated 22.04.2022, Annexures P-5 and P-6, for cutting, removing and theft of standing trees on the common rasta, the panchayat property, thus, causing financial loss to the Gram Panchayat and make good the financial loss caused to the Gram Panchayat by taking action under Section 20 as well as 216 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 against respondents No.6 to 8. It is also prayed to issue directions to respondent No.2 to take action against respondents No.6 to 8 on the complaint, dated 22.04.2022, Annexure P-7, in accordance with law for causing loss to the property of the Gram Panchayat. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that complaints, Annexures P-5 and P-6, were filed by the petitioner on 22.04.2022 but the same have not been decided till date. After hearing the learned counsel for the parties and going through the facts of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4, i.e. District Development and Panchayat Officer, Patiala, Distt.Patiala, to look into the complaint, dated 22.04.2022, Annexure P-5, and decide the same expeditiously preferably within two months from today in accordance with law.
