In the present petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of Certiorari for quashing the order of dismissal dated 16.01.2025 (Annexure P-1) passed by respondent No.3, vide which the petitioner has been dismissed from service w.e.f. 16.01.2025 (afternoon) under Rule 16.2 of the Punjab Police Rules, 1934 on the ground of absence from duty with all consequential benefits.

At the outset, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that as there is a remedy of filing an appeal against the order of dismissal dated 16.01.2025 (Annexure P-1) and submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file an appeal against the abovesaid order.
