(ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3, to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family, who apprehend threat to his life at the hands of private respondents. 2.
After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if the representation dated 18.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner is looked into by the official respondents and appropriate steps are taken to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family, who is being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. 3.

In view of the restricted prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, to look into the representation dated 18.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner qua the alleged threat perception and take necessary steps, as may be required, in accordance with law, to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents.
