(Oral) The status report dated 27.02.2024 filed on behalf of the State of Punjab reads inter-alia as under :- "4.That it is respectfully submitted that during the course of investigation, vide order dated 22.05.2020 passed by the aspecial Investigation Team D.G.P. Punjab, was constituted consisting of DIG of Police, Ferozepur Range, Ferozepur (as its Chairman), S.S.P., Fazilka and S.P. (Inv), Ferozepur. After conducting an in-depth probe into the matter, the above noted SIT has submitted its Inquiry Report dated 18.01.2024 wherein only accused Sudhir has been found guilty of commission of offence u/s 304- B, IPC and the petitioners have been declared as innocent. A detailed Investigation Report No.1934/FRlitigation 18.01.2024 dated was submitted to the Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh necessary approval, for approval. After the said Investigation Report has been received on 12.02.2024 from Director, Bureau of Investigation Punjab, PARVINDER SINGH 2024.03.14 16:05 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document chandigarh

The SSP Fazilka has sent the said Investigation Report to SHO PS Khui Khera for further necessary action as per conclusion of the said Investigation Report. Therefore, after receipt of said inquiry report, Sudhir Kumar has been nominated as accused under section 304-B IPC vide DDR NO. 14 dated 13.02.2024 PS Khui Khera District Fazilka." In view of the above said, learned counsel for the petitioners seeks permission to withdraw the present petition at this stage. Permission is granted. The present petition is dismissed as withdrawn at this stage.
